I was using a standard die and rotated the casing to help align the bullet. So with an identical load, crimp some and leave the crimp off on others. Shoot several groups with each and the reloader can then make up his mind as to what is best for him. Exactly what I did. I prefer powder check instead.

WebApr 7, 2013 · Why is some of your 223 ammo crimped? Same reason the 5.56 ammo is crimped. 223 Rem ammo can be safely fired in a 5.56 chamber as the external dimensions are the same.
